Education in Indonesia is not yet fully in a perfect state. Is it a motivation for improvement in Indonesia? Maybe yes, maybe not. There are still many defects that must be patched one by one.

There are several interrelated issues.

First, the revocation of BHP Law. The Constitutional Court (MK) in the trial of the judicial review of Law Number 9 Year 2009 regarding Education Legal Entity (BHP) stated that the Act is unconstitutional because it is contradictory to the 1945 Constitution [Antaranews.com].

This ruling is indeed shared by some components of society. Because it is considered as an attempt to commercialize education.

However, if when the BHP law is revoked the problem will be completed? No. Because the world of education must now redefine what system is appropriate to use. The world of education in Indonesia may even lose direction. So what is the government's current action? The government is currently working on the BHP Replacement Perpu. But it's nothing, some elements of society have expressed rejection.

Second, the realization of a 20% education budget that is purely used for educational activities (excluding teacher salaries). Currently the education budget has already reached 20%. However, until now the budget includes for teacher salaries. While the percentage of teachers salary can reach 6% -7%. If calculated, then the allocation is quite large and affect the education budget.

For that reason, the government should really realize 20% of the pure education budget without any deductions. So that the distribution of development and educational facilities can touch all educational institutions. Because no doubt, enough facilities to support educational activities during this time.

Third, teacher certification. It is also inevitably influential in the education process in Indonesia. The ability of teachers in conveying materials also affects students' level of understanding. So it takes the accreditation of teachers who teach.

Fourth, the national exam (UN) is not the sole determinant of students' graduation. Educational institutions in remote areas would be more heavily accepted the policy of the passing rate standard that continues to increase. While in the learning process, they are not progressing. Minimal facilities, limited teachers (sometimes even sometimes-not), access is still difficult.

Of course a number or standard score is needed to find out the competencies passed by the students. This figure can also be used as a reference in viewing the condition of education. But if a national exam is generalized it would be very unfair. Why? Because the condition of teaching and learning activities in the interior and downtown is very different. Students in the city center can get the best teachers, enough facilities, plus tutoring supplements and tutoring. While conditions in the interior, teachers who enter every day to learn just have a profit. Less facilities, and so on.

To that end, government programs in education should really consider all sides. Do not just pursue quantity but priority quality. In fact? Currently not a few schools are resigned to the national exam, pursuing graduation targets in various ways. The result, recorded many violations in the implementation of the UN.

If so, has the educational goal been fully achieved? Or even backfire?

The percentage of graduation decreases. When compared with 2009 the percentage of graduation reached 93.74 percent, then the percentage of graduation in 2010 decreased by 3.86 percent to 89.88 [Tempointeraktif.com].

Indeed, all the problems that occur not only the responsibility of the government. But also all components of society. Everything is in our hands. Whether we want to contribute to change or just wait for change.

Lets doing something !!

SPIRIT For Country !!
